Liz Dawn got her big break when she was cast as the iconic Vera Duckworth in Coronation Street, remaining in the ITV soap for over thirty years. Christmas has come early for soap fans this year, with it being announced that Coronation Street’s Vera Duckworth, aka Liz Dawn, is coming out of retirement for a very short festive stint on rival soap, Emmerdale. In news that is sure to excite fans of the ITV soap, Liz will be playing ‘Mrs. Winterbottom’, gracing the Emmerdale farm, and our screens, on Christmas day. Mrs. Winterbottom is said to be a “demanding” character at Eric Pollard’s B&B and although she is only back for one episode, she said that she can’t bloomin’ wait to get back on the telly.
