According to the World Meteorological Organization, Antarctica’s Esperanza Base recorded a record high temperature of 63.5°F on March 24, 2015. The announcement comes as a large iceberg is set to break off the Antarctic Peninsula, although scientists have not directly linked that to climate change.

Germans advised to 'walk like a penguin' ahead of big freeze

Forget about strapping a pair of tennis rackets to your feet, or donning special snow shoes – walking like a penguin is quite literally the way forward when it comes to tackling icy pavements. According to German trauma surgeons, adopting the gait of the aquatic flightless bird will help people avoid slipping on freezing paths as temperatures dip dramtically in the coming days. The advice was published on the website of the German Society of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery on Wednesday, and came complete with diagrams illustrating exactly how Germans should adapt their walking style.

Gotham, The Ball of Mud and Meanness

Bruce, dressing the clothes of a younger Batman, in what could be called a Batman Begins Begins scenario, is on his way to find the name of his parents’ murderer. Breaking Bad’s Michael Bowen is a great actor and it’s such a shame that his life inside the series has already finished: he would have made a great villain, if only he would have been more explored.

Gotham, A Dead Man Feels No Cold

Both this and the previous episode focused the storyline around the origin story of Victor Fries, the man who will become Mr. Freeze. In the previous episode, following the events that brought Fries into looking for the cure to save his fiancé, the press already would call him with his villain name. This week, Victor has to rescue his loved one from the hands of the Gotham City Police Department.

Blindy, a 12-week-old penguin who lives in Flea Bay in New Zealand, has been adopted by animal lover Shireen Helps. The blue penguin was born without functioning eyes and had developed the unusual habit of swimming in tight circles, crashing into the side of its small pond. Flea Bay is home to just three humans and more than 2,500 penguins, and the Helps family have been saving baby chicks from predators for more than 30 years.

Gotham - Worse than a crime

Considering Gotham’s previous episode, I expected a little bit more from the mid-season finale, Worse than a crime. Certainly something more in terms of action and a little less in terms of boring scenes. Nonetheless, it is safe to say that overall we got what we deserved.

      A bitter pill to swallow

After Theo Galavan has been set aside, Gotham managed to set up a plot so intriguing and full of possible developments that it makes me think that Bruce Wayne, still being a too emotional teenager, is actually missing all the fun. Nygma and Penguin found themselves together after the previous episode when Edward rescued Oswald from certain death, as he was living alone and injured in a unknown wood. As I believed the actor behind Oswald Cobblepot, also known as Penguin, did ‘save’ the first season of Gotham truly expressing the best acting among the whole cast, this year’s new leading figure between villains is surely Edward Nygma, i.e.
