Love them or hate them, you can’t deny that Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell leaving EastEnders is going to be the end of an era for the BBC One soap, especially now that we have learned that it’s going to be a permanent departure. Actresses Rita Simons (Roxy) and Sam Womack (Ronnie) are said to be upset by the news that the Mitchell sisters are being bumped off as they’d hoped to have the option to return at some stage in the future. The exit comes under new producer Sean O’Connor’s ruling, with Sean already killing off much-loved character Paul Coker as well as announcing the departures of other favourites, including Babe Carter, Masood Ahmed, Lee Carter, Claudette Hubbard, Buster, Briggs, Pam and Les Coker and Kyle Slater.
Ronnie Mitchell’s life is set to be hanging in the balance at the end of next week after a mystery stalker attempts to brutally murder her. Arguably set to get a taste of her own medicine, Ronnie [played by Samantha Womack], discovers that somebody has been subtly threatening her for weeks - she’s just been a bit too preoccupied to notice. Ronnie eventually notices the huge funeral wreath with ‘RIP Ronnie Mitchell’ written on it when it lands on her doorstep, and it looks like the mystery killer could be any number of enemies that the character has made over the years.
The man who was accused of stalking EastEnders’ star, Samantha Womack, has pleaded guilty to all charges and has been given a suspended sentence. 22-year-old Peter Rombough admitted to traveling 93 miles to deliver the actress, who plays Ronnie Mitchell in the popular BBC One soap, handwritten love notes in Bedfordshire. Understandably, Samantha was left shaken by Rombough and told the court that she feared for the safety of her two children, Benjamin and Lily.
Samantha Womack might be more well known for playing tough gal Ronnie Mitchell in BBC soap opera, EastEnders, but she is actually a very normal person who has been left ‘shaken up’ after being stalked by an ‘obsessed oddball’.
