    Britain has been basking in glorious sunshine for the past few days but it’s all set to come to a crashing halt today. The record-breaking heatwave – that saw the hottest June day since 1976 – is going to make way for that old summer favourite – rain. Severe weather warnings are in place overnight and throughout Thursday, with a cold front set to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to parts of southern Scotland, northern England, north Wales and the Midlands.
