Take That may postpone 2017 reunion tour plans to include Robbie Williams

Take That have postponed their plans for a 2017 tour – despite the fact it was to celebrate their 25 year anniversary.

The band are now looking at celebrating, erm, 26 years together as they push back their plans to hit the road until 2018 as they desperately want their former bandmate, Robbie Williams, to join them.

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald have all been very vocal about their plans to celebrate the huge milestone in their careers next year but when Robbie revealed that he won’t be with them because he wants to go on a solo tour in 2017, they resorted to drastic measures.

Despite the rescheduling, former member Jason Orange will not be returning to the stage.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, the group shared: “We are still trying to work out the reunion. We are looking at a tour in 2018 and we’ll drop the album at the very end of next year.

“But these things can change, at the moment that’s what we are hoping for. Robbie will hopefully come along but Jason is happy staying where he is for now.”

Robbie recently admitted that he would be keen to reunite with Take That but couldn’t do next year, previously saying: “When is the 25th anniversary? Next year? 2017? I don’t know if I can.

“I have plans, I have a tour, there’s stuff to be doing. I don’t think it’ll be next year but I think it’ll be at some point.

“I’m a floating member. And I’m really proud of what we do and what we create when I’m in the band. We’ll wait and see when our paths collide but I don’t think it’s going to be next year.”

In that case bring on 2018 – celebrating a 26th anniversary might be unique, but it certainly has a ring to it.
