Take That’s Mark Owen To Star In West End Production Of ‘War Of The Worlds’?

Take That’s Mark Owen could be about to head in a new career direction, with reports claiming the singer is ‘in talks’ to potentially star in a West End production of ‘War Of The Worlds’.

Oh, and did we mention he would be joining forces with Liam Neeson, who is a 3D hologram in the production?

AMAZING.

A theatre source told The Sun: “This could be the beginning of a whole new chapter in his career. Besides his 2002 Celebrity Big Brother appearance, he’s never really ventured outside of the music industry before.

“However, he always believed he had potential as an actor, and is now really keen to find some success outside of Take That.

“Seeing as his solo albums never really set the world alight, he thinks this could be a great opportunity to establish himself independently from the band.

“He’s willing to put the work in and learn the craft, and thinks WOTW could lead to TV and maybe even movie work in the future.”

Mark’s bandmate Gary Barlow previously sang two songs on the 2012 album ‘Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds - The New Generation’, while Jason Donovan and Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson have both toured with the production.

Let’s just hope the role wouldn’t take Mark away from Take That too much - especially now they’ve allegedly landed a residency in Las Vegas.
