Brains and creativity merge in 18-year-old Jimmy Liu’s viral TikTok.
In the video, the Tennessee teen flexes his ambidexterity by solving a Rubik’s cube with his left hand while playing the piano with his right.
Liu started making TikTok videos during the quarantine to ease his boredom. The piano-puzzle mashup is already his second clip to rack up over 124,00 views (the first being a quirky violin video). Most of Liu’s TikToks showcase his humor, video editing skills and musicianship.
“I have been playing [the] piano for 11 years now and I have been cubing since I was in the seventh grade,” Liu told Newsflare. “Although I have not really practiced much from starting high school up until today.”
In the viral clip, Liu gives the Nintendo Wii theme a whirl on his home piano while successfully completing the classic ’80s puzzle, all in under 30 seconds. When he finishes the Rubik’s cube, Liu cheekily stares into the camera as if to suggest: Yes, I really did that.
“The raw brainpower contained in this one TikTok is more than I will ever be able to conceive, major props,” one TikTok user commented.
“He flexed on us so hard, OMG,” another said.
“This is easily the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen on TikTok,” someone added.
Liu told Newsflare that he appreciated the warm response he got for the funny video.
“Many people have given me a lot of praise for the video,” he said. “And I am extremely grateful for all the love and support.”
