Tributes pour in for Talia, 13-year-old internet star who died of cancer

Ellen Degeneres and Kendall Jenner join the beauty community in sharing their condolences as teen Talia Joy Castellano passes away

Tributes are pouring in for Talia Joy Castellano, a 13-year-old YouTuber who died of cancer yesterday.

Ellen Degeneres and Kendall Jenner are just some of the stars sending their condolences to the teen who passed away this week.

Despite suffering from cancer since the age of seven, Talia posted make-up tutorials on YouTube and had 750,000 subscribers.

Talk show host Ellen Degeneres invited her to appear on her show – where she was named as the new face of CoverGirl Cosmetics.

“You really are quite something. There's a depth to your soul that is not a 13-year-old soul,” Ellen told Talia when she appeared on her show in October 2012.

Last year, Talia revealed she was suffering from two forms of aggressive cancer - neuroblastoma and preleukemia – and she had just four months to one year left to live.

On Monday, it was revealed she has been in hospital for six months – and her condition was worsening.

‘It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven,’ said a post on the US teen’s Facebook page yesterday.

Ellen Degeneres wrote on her Twitter page that she was ‘so sad’ to have ‘lost a very special girl.’

Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kendall Jenner also sent her condolences, writing her ‘little angel is watching over you.’

In a previously unseen video with The Truth 365, Talia was asked how she would like to be remembered.

“In a hundred years, I would like to be remembered as the bubbly girl who wanted to do something about childhood cancer," she said.
