Taliban Claims Control of Panjshir Valley

The Taliban said on September 6 that it had claimed complete control of the Panjshir valley, the last region in the country held by resistance forces.

The victory was claimed over the anti-Taliban National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, led by Ahmad Massoud. The group, however, said the Taliban’s claim was “false”. The NRF said “the war continues” and that its forces were “present in all strategic positions across the valley to continue the fight.”
