England’s Euro run may have ended in heartbreak last night, but the team still gave everyone plenty to be proud of.

Gareth Southgate led the way in celebrating his players for bringing “the country together,” calling them a “beacon of light” in a challenging tournament.

Members of the English team have had to face a horrifying onslaught of racist abuse, but they have also gained huge numbers of new fans for the dignified and decent way in which they conducted themselves throughout the Euros.

As well as showing support for anti-racism and LGBTQ+ rights, there have been some impressive goals, some even more impressive saves, and some very memorable haircuts along the way.
