Tamara Ecclestone admits that she only spent six minutes away from her daughter in three years

Tamara Ecclestone has claimed that before her three-year-old daughter Sophia started nursery earlier this year, she’d spent just six and a half minutes away from her.

The daughter of Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone regularly posts pictures of herself and Sophia out and about, but fans will no doubt be shocked to learn just how much time they spend together.

Speaking to The Telegraph about how close she is with the toddler, Tamara, who is married to 36-year-old Jay Rutland, explained: “The first few days she went [to nursery], I sat outside in the car and cried my eyes out.

“My husband thinks I’m insane, but I missed her.

“My daughter isn’t just part of my life, she is my life.

“Being a mother is to me, the most important thing. From the start it’s been 100 per cent.

“It might not be the right way, but it’s my way and all I know is I have a very happy, secure daughter.”

Tamara’s latest comments will no doubt spark yet another parenting debate surrounding the star, with the 32-year-old beauty being no stranger to criticism from other mums.

In fact, earlier this year Tamara was at the centre of a social media row after she shared an arty photo of herself breastfeeding her three year old.

Thanking the photographer in the caption, the star wrote: “Nothing but love @ivetteivens always captures the most beautiful moments #hippyatheart”, however, many of her followers were unimpressed with the pic, claiming that Sophia is too old to be nursed.

This pic sparked intense online backlash.

One critic wrote: “I’m sure Sophia will love this picture when she’s 15 and it’s being blasted around her school! Great you are breast feeding but does the whole world need to see it. She is 3!”

However, Tamara had previously hit back at the outrage, sharing another breastfeeding image and writing: “Find it a very sad and surprising sign of the times and the world we live in that the act of breastfeeding your child evokes such hatred in so many bitter people.

“I am astonished that breastfeeding mums get such a hard time as there is no reason why we should. I would never ask someone when they will take away their toddlers bottle or follow on formula or cows milk or dummy or comforter nor do I judge those who choose to formula feed their children of give them cows milk.

“I support and empower all mums and I personally believe hatred is so heavy and bad for the soul. I hope by the time Fifi is a mumma people who have chosen to be open about Their breastfeeding journey will mean that seeing a picture of a mum feeding their child won’t evoke any reaction and that it is seen only for what it is a mum doing her best.

“To me there is nothing but love in this photograph and I find is such a shame that it brings out anger in some of you it’s sad for you that that’s how you choose to live particularly those that have made comments trying to sexualise breastfeeding are particularly unwell.

“I choose love. I want my daughter to grow up in a better world where this is nothing but normal in a better world.”
