Tamara Ecclestone ‘Wants A Divorce’ From Husband Jay Rutland Following His Arrest

Heiress Tamara Ecclestone has reportedly moved into a separate bedroom of the 57-room mansion she shares with husband Jay Rutland as she ponders a divorce.

The 31-year-old is said to have confided in told close friends and family members, including her dad, her marriage is “effectively over”.

Her apparent split was reported by today’s The Sun, which claimed she has moved into a separate bedroom of their £70million London home and is now hardly speaking to her husband – father of their two-year-old daughter Sophia.

It follows property developer Jay’s arrest for allegedly helping a fugitive international drugs baron.

The Sun reported the socialite, pictured above and below in 2014 with Jay, has already started discussions with family lawyers to look at her options.

A pal was quoted by the paper saying: “The relationship was strained before Jay’s court case but this has been the final straw. They live in the same house but are no longer in the same bedroom. She has been open that their marriage is effectively over.

“Her first priority is protecting Sophia and upholding the family’s reputation so she won’t make any announcements in a hurry.”

Tamara, daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone, above, was not with 34-year-old Jay when he appeared last week at Thames Magistrates Court in East London, charged with assisting cocaine trafficker James Tarrant while he was on the run.

Former stockbroker Jay did not enter a plea and is set to return to court early next month.

She has also taken two ski breaks without the man she married in 2013.

Her spokeswoman told The Sun: “Tamara has no intention of discussing her marriage with the media at this time.”
