Tamil Nadu Officials Bring Aid to Monsoon-Struck Chennai

Floodwater inundated the streets of the Tamil Nadu city of Chennai as the India Meteorological Department said “extremely heavy” rain would continue through to Thursday, November 11.

The Times of India said the city saw over 21.53 cm of rainfall on Saturday night, shutting down most public transport services.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the central government would extend “all possible assistance in rescue and relief operations”.
