Tanker Helicopter Draws Water From Golf Course Pond to Fight Mann Fire in Norco

The fast-moving Mann brush fire forced evacuations in Norco, California, on March 3. According to reports from the Los Angeles Times, the fire went from 10 acres to 100 acres in less than two hours.

The fire started in the Santa Ana riverbottom, officials said.

Several hundred homes in the area were evacuated and shelters were set up at two local high schools, according to the report. Students from Riverview Elementary School were taken by bus to Norco High School.

More than 200 firefighters were reported to be on the scene as winds were gusting up to 25 mph.
