Taskmaster season 18 spoilers follow.

Taskmaster viewers were left confused by Andy Zaltzman's snooker outfit in the show's latest episode.

Tonight's (October 10) instalment marked the halfway point of the season, with Andy and his co-stars Rosie Jones, Emma Sidi, Babatunde Aléshé and Jack Dee aiming to impress Greg Davies and Alex Horne in a variety of tasks.

After previously bemusing the Taskmaster with his velvety wizard's cloak, Andy opted for a snooker player-inspired outfit tonight. He paired a light blue shirt with a darker hued waistcoat, black bow tie and a snooker cue, of course.

"Should I address the fact that you've opted to dress as a snooker player today or should we just sail past it?" asked Greg, to which Andy replied: "Really it's about a state of mind.

"Because I've found myself getting a little irritable in earlier shows, snooker teaches you when you're not at the table you've got to sit there and take it. So, I'm just trying to get myself in the right frame of mind."

Fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their puzzlement at Andy's new outfit, with one writing: "What is Andy holding???"

"Ok, Andy as snooker player. Why?" another added, while a third said: "Any reason why Zaltz has come dressed as a snooker player?"

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment: "Andy wearing a snooker outfit and the logic for wearing it is inspired," with another similarly commenting: "His commitment to the costume bit."

One viewer even went to the effort of translating the Chinese phrase on Andy's shirt, which aptly means "mission" in English.

Tonight's episode saw the contestants having to choose an object that's better with liquid in it for the prize task, as well as instructing a robot for the first challenge. Greg then had to decide which of the group created the strongest smell, with Jack earning the maximum points.

For the group task, the two teams were asked to present the most heartwarming story for a local news programme. One featured an unexpected Tour de France winner, while the other centred around a lonely hedgehog.

Finally, the comedians had to catapult a mini skydiver in the studio, with the closest to the target taking the points. After a tense tiebreak against Jack, Emma won the episode – marking her first win of the series.

Taskmaster season 18 airs Thursdays and streams on Channel 4. A Junior Taskmaster spin-off has been confirmed.
