Appearing on Sunday Brunch, the show creator was asked if they ever worry they could run out of comedy stars to take part.

"I don't think we will," he admitted. "We will run out of the legend-type – the Dara Ó Briains or the Frank Skinners, but there's always new people coming through.”

He then teased: "We've got someone in the next series, series 19, from abroad, who's a big name overseas, which we've not done before. So yeah, there's always different avenues to go down."

Horne went on to joke: "I'm going to tap into the Americans! Are you going to tap into the Americans?"

The last season of the show was won by John Robins, who beat Sophie Willan, Nick Mohammed, Joanne McNally and Steve Pemberton to take the crown.

Following his win, John revealed how he celebrated, recalling on the Elis and John podcast: “I celebrated by having three curries... which I am currently really really really regretting.”

He further said of his time on the show: "I laughed a lot and smiled a lot."

In other Taskmaster news, the show recently released a new VR game, which allows fans to complete hilarious tasks, as well as create tasks of their own.
