Taskmaster's Greg Davies explains why he's not hosting spin-off
Taskmaster co-presenter Greg Davies has opened up about why he's not hosting the spin-off, Junior Taskmaster.
Greg and his sidekick Lil' Alex Horne will not be part of the on-screen team for the upcoming kid-themed Junior Taskmaster. Instead, former Taskmaster contestant Rose Matafeo will be handing out the tasks alongside Mike Wozniak as her assistant.
Speaking to The Radio Times, Greg said it was important for Junior Taskmaster to have "a different vibe" and establish its own identity.
"I think Alex and I thought it was a far better idea for someone else to do the kids' version," Davies acknowledged. "I think I probably would be far too scary for children and I wouldn't be able to moderate myself."

Rose and Mike have Greg's full backing on Junior Taskmaster, and he called the duo "a great choice" to bring a new energy to the franchise.
"I think the show will be its own show. I'm looking forward to watching it, but they don't need my advice," he added.
Junior Taskmaster is merely the latest spin-off, as Alex Horne previously fronted a US version of Taskmaster along with Comedy Bang Bang star Reggie Watts for Comedy Central.
The US version only lasted a single season, with Alex recently suggesting "mistakes" were made in adapting the show for an American audience.

"We sort of did everything the channel told us to do, so we halved the length of the show," he told The Radio Times. "It was 22 minutes in total. And all the tasks were tasks we’d already done, because we thought we’d play it safe.
“We made a few compromises, which we regret."
Since Taskmaster US's cancellation, The CW aired one episode of the original British series in 2020 before cancelling it and moving it to an on-demand hub.
Taskmaster airs on Thursdays at 9pm, airing and streaming on Channel 4. A Junior Taskmaster spinoff has been confirmed.
