Taxi Crashes Into Heathrow Terminal 5 Building After 'Driver Had Heart Attack'

Emergency services have rushed to Heathrow Airport after a taxi driver crashed into Terminal 5.

A photo from the scene shows a black people carrier smashed into the glass at the side of the building, having careered through metal railings.

No official cause has been given for the crash so far, although onlookers said that the driver had a heart attack behind the wheel.

Heathrow Airport confirmed that here had been a “road incident” and that one lane had been closed off to traffic.

The incident comes as commuters faced travel misery this morning as several flights were delayed or cancelled as thick fog continued to descend on the capital.

The airport confirmed the weather warning, tweeting: “Following yesterday’s heavy fog, the Met Office has issued another fog warning for today, which may cause some disruption.”

Delays are expected to continue throughout the day, with some passengers experiencing waiting times of up to several hours.
