Taylor County Declares Disaster, Issues Mandatory Evacuation Orders as Wildfire Grows
A disaster was declared and mandatory evacuation orders were put in place in Taylor County, Texas, as a wildfire grew on May 18.
The Texas Wildfire Incident Response System said the Mesquite Heat Fire had burned 5,000 acres and was 5 percent contained. At least 10 homes were burned, officials said.
