Taylor Swift 1989 (Taylor's Version): how many Vault tracks are on re-release - and which ones?

Taylor Swift will be diving back into the vault for her re-released version of 1989.

The pop superstar announced she is releasing a Taylor's Version of her hit 2014 album on 27 October. The date was confirmed following her final show at SoFi Stadium in LA, which brought an end to the current leg of the Eras tour.

Tickets for her 2024 shows in North America - including a six night residency in Toronto. But first she will follow up Speak Now (Taylor's Version) with 1989 (Taylor's Version) later this year - and pre-orders for special edition CDs are live for a limited time.

In late September 2023, Taylor finally revealed the titles for the vault tracks due to be released on 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Swifties managed to unlock the ‘vault’ for the re-recorded album - which contains five previously unreleased songs - by solving 1989-themed word puzzles via a game on Google Search.

She has confirmed that it will include the original tracklist as well as songs from the vault. But how many will be included?

Following the announcement that she would be releasing the re-recorded album on 27 October 2023, exactly nine years after the original album dropped. Taylor Swift revealed that there would be just 5 songs from the vault on the album.

The songs are previously unreleased and fans are already excited to discover the new tracks.

Which vault tracks are on 1989 (Taylor's Version)

Taylor has confirmed the names of four vault tracks so far:

  • Is It Over Now?

  • Now That We Don’t Talk

  • Say Don’t Go

  • Suburban Legends

It leaves just one track yet to be confirmed. Fans still have time to solve the vault puzzle on Google.

What are the fan theories about the vault tracks?

On the Taylor Swift Reddit, fans have been debating potential hints and clues about the vault tracks due to be released on 1989. It has been speculated that the special edition deluxe CDs could be Easter Eggs for the names of unreleased tracks.

One fan explained: "I also noticed the yellow CD variant is called Sunrise Blvd which is a choice that may become more obvious to us later. Definitely a lyric or song title."

The capitalising of FAVORITE in her announcement of the re-release could be another clue. A fan wrote: "I think Favorite is going to be one, also because of the post!"

Fans have also speculated about potential collabs on the vault tracks. One fan laid out the following theory: "Sabrina Carpenter. She's a warm up act for Latin America so they could perform the song live (the November dates). I think that's quite plausible and I think it should be a fun pop upbeat song. :) honestly surprised no one else said this yet!"Other fans simply suggested previously unreleased performances such as the Grammy's version of Wildest Dreams - in which Taylor performed with just an electric guitar.

How many vault tracks are on her other Taylor's Version albums?

Taylor Swift has been re-recording her early albums, including Fearless, Red and Speak Now. On each of the releases so far, she has included 6 previously unreleased tracks from the vault.

1989 (Taylor's Version) will only include five, which is one less than on the previous three Taylor's Version albums. It has not yet been confirmed which vault tracks will be included on the album.
