Taylor Swift 'drowning in tears' after Blake's birthday surprise for Ryan Reynolds

Pop sensation Taylor Swift couldn’t hide her emotions last night and joked she was “drowning in tears of joy” after her friend Blake Lively hosted a sweet 40th birthday bash for Ryan Reynolds.

The 29-year-old actress gave the Deadpool hunk the “best birthday ever” in New York when she arranged a lavish bash at his favourite eaterie and filled the place with party streamers and ballons.

Uh, we also might be slightly welling up here.

Last year, Taylor and Blake became firm friends after they met in Australia and Taylor took time out from her 1989 World Tour to hang out with Blake, who was shooting thriller movie The Shallows.

She liked and commented on her pal’s photo – along with over half a million other Ryan Reynolds fans – and teased “Thanks guys. Now I’m drowning in tears of joy.”

Was the currently single star being sarcastic? So what? We’re sure she’s delighted for them.

Blake and Ryan are loving life as they welcomed their second child into the world last month but they’ve kept the sex and name of their 22-monthold daughter James’ sibling tightly under wraps.
