Taylor Swift Fan Who Traveled 'Over 5,700 Miles' to See Eras Tour in Vienna Reflects on Cancellation
A Taylor Swift fan from Colorado was heartbroken after traveling to attend an Eras Tour show scheduled for August 8 in Vienna, which was canceled due to a “planned terrorist attack,” according to event organizer Barracuda Music.
“I was coming with my dad to see Taylor in Vienna. My dad unfortunately passed away in February, and I was not going to go on the trip because I didn’t want to go without him,” Blake Rose, from Denver, said in footage filmed on August 7. “All my friends were like ‘You just have to go and do it for him’, and then this happened. I’m struggling to find happiness.”
She said that she hopes “Taylor is okay” and that she “doesn’t feel too bad about this because it’a not her fault,” adding, “I’m gonna make the best of it and enjoy Vienna.”
Two suspects, including a 19-year-old Austrian citizen who allegedly pledged allegiance to Islamic State, were arrested on Wednesday, August 7, local media reported.
Despite Vienna State Police Chief Gerhard Purstl announcing increased security measures, the event organizer Barracuda Music canceled all three shows scheduled for August 8-10 at Ernst-Happel-Stadion.

I traveled from Denver, Colorado over 5700 miles to come see Taylor and I was sitting in the Toronto Airport when I found out what happened because my friend that I was going to meet up with here told me that she just landed and found out everything and then they canceled the show, which obviously sucks.
But I am really proud of the Austrian government for doing what was best to keep everybody safe.
And, um as much as it really does suck, um I'm going to make the best of it and just enjoy Vienna and see all the sights.
Um, I don't really know what else you guys want to know.
I was coming with my dad to see Taylor and Vienna.
Um, my dad, uh unfortunately passed away in February and I was not going to go on the trip because I didn't want to go without him.
But then all my friends were like, you just have to go and do it for him and then this happened.
So I am struggling to find the happiness, but I can't imagine that I can't find something fun to do here.
Um But yeah, it really does suck.
But again, I'm, I'm really proud of the Austrian government for doing what was right.
And I really hope that Taylor is ok and that she doesn't feel too bad about this because it's not her fault.
Um, and yeah, so I'm just gonna make the best of it and enjoy Viano.
