For many of the fans attending tonight's huge Taylor Swift concert in Cardiff, the occasion has been nearly a year in the planning. Tickets for the UK leg of the American singer's Eras Tour went on sale last August and thousands have had tickets, hotels and flights in the bank since then.

Others have chanced their luck and come up trumps - just look at mum Jessica Beasley and her 11-year-old son Austin, who picked up two resale tickets right to the wire, the night before the show. You can still find last-minute tickets which you can read more about here.

“He’s just making me poor!” She laughed as they emerged from the merch stall with a t-shirt and Swift banner. You can read one fan's experience of having travelled 19 hours to Cardiff from the US despite her fear of flying here.

Jessica said that although she isn’t a huge fan, they only got tickets last minute last night after she returned from holiday. “I came back yesterday from Turkey and I put up a plea on Facebook asking for any genuine tickets. I am delighted to be here but I would have even paid someone to take him if I couldn’t as he’s such a fan. We ended up getting tickets last minute at 10pm!"

Jessica said Austin is a dancer with the well-known Francesca Jandrell Dance Company and will soon be dancing alongside Craig David. He made his own Swift T-shirt last night in tribute to the one she wore in one of her music videos, which he is wearing along with - of course - a blue cowboy hat.

“It’s the merch but also the music. I’ve loved her forever really,” he said. “I think you [Jessica] played her when I was younger and I’ve loved her since. It just speaks to me - like the album Speak Now.”

Jessica added that she is half-German and has seen the likes of the Spice Girls, Ed Sheeran and Robbie Williams over the years and that her friend comes over especially from Germany every year for whoever is playing in the stadium.

"She loves coming over here and comes to Cardiff every June for a show as it is the best place in the world to see a gig.
