The 26-year-old singer didn’t stand at the head of a line handing out breakfast, lunch and dinner packages, but she did write out a cheque to Baton Rouge Food Bank for $50,000.

Her latest donation is part of $1 million she gifted to Louisiana Flood Relief to help those effected by the worst natural disaster to hit the United States since Hurricane Sandy. It killed 13 people and displaced 30,000 from their homes.

The estimated cost of recovering from the floods is $30 million. Imagine if 29 other celebrities came forward and matched Taylor’s donation?

Baton Rouge, a nonprofit organization, shared a message on Twitter and Instagram Thursday to thank the Shake It Off hitmaker for her generosity.

Also on Thursday, the Salvation Army added their thanks to Taylor for donating to relief efforts.

They said on Twitter: “Thank you @taylorswift13 for helping us serve the #LouisianaFlood survivors by donating to our relief efforts! #DoingTheMostGood."

The singer isn’t afraid to react when she hears horrifying news, such as the brutal murder of 49 people in an Orlando nighclub back in June. She paid tribute by writing out every victim’s name.

Celebrities are often criticised for publicising their charity work, but why? Especially if the people who received help want to know where their luck came from and celebrate it. Good on you, Tay, spread the love!

So, do you agree?
