Taylor Swift Had Her Security Secretly Pay the Bill at Dinner with Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz: Report
"Ms. Taylor paid!" a waiter at Il Buco Alimentari recalled to Vulture
Taylor Swift reportedly had a way around the notorious battle for the bill at dinner with friends.
The global pop superstar has recently been spotted at a number of New York City hot spots with famous friends or her beau, Travis Kelce. During one intimate dinner with her gal pals, she made sure to stealthily grab the check, according to Vulture.
In a feature article from the New York magazine section, journalist Rachel Handler interviewed the bartender at Il Buco Alimentari, who waited on Swift, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz and Greta Gerwig on Sept. 19. The employee, who was identified as Julius, revealed that Swift’s security guards secretly paid the tab for her so that her other friends didn’t get the chance to.
“Laura Dern was going to pay the bill,” Julius recalled to Vulture. “She’s like, ‘Darling, take this.’ I was like, ‘No.’ She was like, ‘Why??’ I said, ‘Ms. Taylor paid!’”
And according to Julius, the singer tipped generously.
As for what the group ate, he told the outlet that “Taylor wanted to do the whole menu,” leading him to create a family-style meal for them instead.
When dinner was almost over, the bartender shared a heartwarming tidbit from the evening: Kravitz helped clean up the table. “I didn’t expect her to do that because both of her parents are celebrities,” he said.
When Swift isn't cheering on Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium, the two can be seen stepping out at various Kansas City and New York hot spots.

The source added that the couple was, “going back and forth about what to order, like, ‘Should we get a steak? Should we should get like espresso martinis?’”
Prior to showing up on SNL, the power couple dined at Nobu 57, the Midtown Manhattan location of the popular sushi destination. A source told PEOPLE at the time that Swift and Kelce dined in the private hibachi room with eight other guests.
