Taylor Swift on 2017: 'I couldn't have had a better year'
Taylor Swift may be in the minority when it comes to thinking 2017 was a great year.
From Trump's divisive administration to sexual assault scandals, it's tarnished all aspects of entertainment in the media.
For most people, 2017 has been regarded as a difficult and tumultuous year.
And up until the release of her sixth studio album Reputation, Swift had endured a tough one as well: battling another feud with Kanye West, confronting her sexual assaulter head on and dealing with criticism of her feminist beliefs.
But the tides seem to have turned for the mega pop hitmaker.
On Wednesday December 13, Swift's birthday, the hit-maker shared a photo from the Jingle Bell Ball stage in London on Instagram saying, “I love you guys so much. I couldn’t have asked for a better year, all thanks to you. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Can’t wait to see what 28 will be like. See you on tour.”
Since she released her Reputation, Swift has every reason to celebrate: she has garnered $1m in album sales and will embark on a massive 2018 tour.
However, the post was interpreted as a bit tone deaf according to the judge and jury of the internet: Twitter.
But Swift is no stranger to being the centre of attention.
From commenting on her feud with Kanye West to her relationship with Joe Alwyn, Reputation stirred the pot when it came to all things Swift.
Today Twitter had a lot to say about Swift's latest comments.
Between references to the Trump administration and anxious jokes, there were a lot of feelings.
You can see the wide range of reactions below.

is there anything more annoying than Taylor Swift talking about what a great year 2017 has been while everyone else is fighting for our lives under Trump? ugh...

Taylor Swift is canceled. Being white and staying silent is racism, homophobic, transphobic... but to call it a great year... yikes https://t.co/t9GQcAUxw2

Is this a Hillary Clinton supporter being triggered when Taylor Swift says she had a great year?
