Great news, kids! The weirdest line from Taylor Swift's recent single 'ME!' has officially been cut – and spelling is no longer fun again.

In unsurprising news, Taylor has removed the infamous line "Hey, kids! Spelling is fun!" from her recent single with Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie, although the actual reason is still a little unclear.

According to Vulture, the sickly-sweet – and straight-up patronising – affirmation has been removed from the song when you download it from iTunes. Those fans who fancy streaming 'ME!' on Spotify, however, are still getting the gospel of spelling by Taylor.

It would be easy to blame Taylor's decision to cut "Spelling is fun!" on the inevitable eye-rolling from fans, but an upcoming interview with CBS Sunday Morning might offer the whole truth.

In an apparent bid to take back ownership of her music in light of the controversial Scooter Braun deal, The Hollywood Reporter claims Taylor is set to re-record her back catalogue.

When asked if her plan was to re-record her earlier hits, Swift confirmed: "Yeah, absolutely."

In other Swift news, the singer's former rival Katy Perry has admitted that she's "open" to a collaboration between the two now that they've officially buried the hatchet.

Proving herself to be a Swiftie, Katy said: "You know, one of my favourite songs of hers off of a couple of records past is 'Begin Again'. I really like what she's saying in 'The Archer'.

"I think she's really intelligent, there's lots of layers to her. You know, I get the singles, a lot of people know us from the singles but when you dig deep, there's depth."
