Taylor Swift has left fans in shock after wiping her social media pages and website completely clean.

The US pop star began deleting content on Friday and left her Twitter and Instagram accounts blank, while her Facebook page now has no posts after 2015.

The bizarre move has left supporters of the singer confused and desperate for answers.

Some have questioned if it is part of a big album release, or whether she is simply cutting off her online persona.

Her Twitter account, which has 95.4million followers, now has no picture, bio information and no tweets. All that’s left are messages Swift tweeted to other people back in 2010. She is also no longer following anyone.

Likewise, her Instagram account is completely blank despite having 102 million followers.

Her Facebook has no picture either, just old pictures and videos from her 1989 album tour.

Her Tumblr was also wiped, while her website is now simply just a black page with no text or pictures.

Celebrities including Kanye West and Justin Bieber have been known to delete their social media pages in the past, although painstakingly removing every post is unprecedented.

Once deleted, the content – as well as likes and retweets – cannot be revived.
