Taylor Swift 'staying at luxury Edinburgh hotel' as she lands in capital for Murrayfield gigs

Taylor Swift has officially landed in Scottish capital, as die-hard fans are desperate to get a glimpse of the megastar ahead of her highly-anticipated gigs this weekend.

The Cruel Summer singer is is rumoured to be arriving at Edinburgh’s Caledonian hotel tonight hours after her dancers arrived to soundcheck at the Murraryfield stadium.

Anticipation in Edinburgh is growing as Taylor arrives into the Scots capital for three nights fresh from her sell out gigs in Lyon.

At the plush city centre hotel, security has been stepped up with Taylor’s team of guards who have been spotted at other gigs around Europe, furiously ensuring that only those who are meant to be in the hotel catch a site of the star.

As well as putting up floral barriers to hide the superstar from site in the hotels car park and banners to cover the gaps in the iron gates, security have also coned off the car park to make it inaccessible to fans.

Non-guests are even being advised there is no paid parking available within the grounds and there are no rooms left to book at the hotel.

Inside, fresh flowers have been brought into the hotel to ensure it looks immaculate, whilst staff have been polishing fixtures and fittings to make sure it is Taylor-worthy.

Taylor’s trusted security team have been manning doors at the front and back of the hotel as well as keeping a watchful eye on staircases and guarding some of the corridors.

An insider said: “Security has been stepped up massively for Taylor as she is such a huge star and everyone wants to see her. Her team have been working in conjunction with hotel management to keep public areas under surveillance for more than forty eight hours now and tension is building throughout the team.”

It is expected the star will arrive at the hotel under the veil of darkness after her dancers were seen in and around Edinburgh with one posting on social media near to the castle before heading to rehearse at the venue.

Crew were seen going into Murrayfield earlier today with a fleet of X5 4x4 BMW carriers also being spotted around the former Waldorf Astoria hotel and other blacked out vehicles going to and from the building over the last forty eight hours.

Rumours also abound that a soundcheck will take place this evening with residents advised that sound will rise to concert levels later after a busy day at the pre concert merchandise sale.

Elsewhere, superfans queued in all weathers for merch on Thursday ahead of the Love Story singer taking to the stage for the first UK Era's tour date, which will take place tomorrow night on Friday, June 7.

Her tour sold out within minutes after going on sale in July 2023. The megastar is scheduled for a trio of performances at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium before moving on to gigs in Liverpool, Cardiff, and London.
