Errrr, checkmate?

Taylor Swift has positioned her pieces, or should we say, trillions of fans, to crush her arch-rival Katy Perry and steal her thunder on the night she released her latest album, ‘Witness’.

The 27-year-old singer can’t seem to ‘Shake It Off’ when it comes to her meteoric feud with the fellow pop star.

Her management announced on social media on Thursday: “In celebration of ‘1989’ selling over 10 million albums worldwide and the RIAA’s 100 million song certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalogue available to all streaming services tonight at midnight.”

OK, but on the same day that Katy releases ‘Witness’???

Fans have joined the Taylor Vs Katy party on Twitter and pointed out just exactly what that means for their never-ending beef.

Katy moaned recently that Taylor used “little girls” to troll her before, when she released her 2015 track ‘Bad Blood’, which is generally accepted to be about the pair’s toxic feud.

The 32-year-old star said in an interview earlier this week: “No one has asked me about my side of the story, and there are three sides of every story: one, two, and the truth.

“I mean, I’m not Buddha – things irritate me. I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I’m also not a pushover, you know? Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls [her fans]. That’s so messed up!”

THIS IS ALL SO AWKWARD.

Elsewhere, fellow chart topper Lorde will perform at Bonaroo festival this weekend alongside Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Flume, Marshmello, The Head and the Heart and Big Gigantic, and will be part of the live broadcast of the music extravaganza at redbull.tv/Bonnaroo
