A new Christmas festival is taking place in Liscard for four days. From Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, the town centre will be filled with live entertainment, festive markets, light displays and the return of the Taylor Town installations.

The Christmas Magic Festival kicks off with dance schools and drummers performing inside The Cheery Tree Centre, alongside a ‘Sound & Vision’ light display with projections outside McDonald’s. There will be murals, art ehibitions and a Christmas light switch-on with Great British Bake Off's Lizzy Acker.

The Taylor Town installations, a range of artistic portrayals of Taylor Swift's albums, will also return. The installations celebrated the singer's three sold-out shows in June at Anfield Stadium.

Friday will see various live stages host musical performances. On Saturday, kids can enjoy a visit from Bluey, Christmas elves, mascots and baby dinosaurs who will be greeting and entertaining the crowds outside McDonald’s. A Taylor Swift tribute will also perform in the mini Taylor Town exhibition.

There will be a market inside the Cherry Tree Shopping Centre in addition to the outdoor markets and fairground. On Sunday, a series of Christmas events are planned inside the centre including a singing choir, interactive dance events, kung fu demonstrations, Santa’s Silly Bingo and various other activities.

Equilibrium North West’s Sharon Munroe said: “We’re really excited about hosting this amazing four day event — there’ll be so much going on and something for all the family. Our aim for this and future projects is to bring people together, boost community spirit and help people make happy memories.”
