Team GB open the women’s football tournament at the delayed Tokyo Olympics this morning with a match against Chile at the Sapporo Dome.

Hege Riise’s side will be eager to make a fast start in Group E, where they are also joined by hosts Japan and two-time bronze medalists Canada.

Chile - whose star player and captain is Lyon goalkeeper Christiane Endler - are making their Olympic debut after an impressive rise under Jose Letelier, while Team GB were quarter-finalists at London 2012 before missing out on Rio 2016 after plans for Great Britain to once again enter football teams at the Games were scrapped.

TV channel: The match will be televised live on BBC Two for free, with kick-off at 8:30am BST. BBC Two’s coverage begins at 8:15.
