Teams Assess Damage as Riverside Fire Grows to Over 137,000 Acres

Workers with the Oregon Department of Transportation carried out damage assessments on Route 224 on September 16, as the Riverside Fire continued to burn.

By September 17, the fire had burned over 137,000 acres and was 6 percent contained.

“Lots of down[ed] trees and debris, a few landslides, lots of burned barriers, signs down, heavy smoke, and small fires still burning in the area,” the Oregon Department of Transportation said.
