Microsoft has confirmed it's working to resolve an issue that left some users unable to access emails and its Teams collaboration app.

As the work week kicked off on Monday, users reported problems with Microsoft’s Office 365 suite, a collection of apps for personal and business use.

Many experienced difficulties sending messages, loading email attachments or saving drafts.

In a post to X, formerly Twitter, Microsoft acknowledged an issue "impacting users attempting to access Exchange Online or functionality within Microsoft Teams calendar" and said it was investigating.

The tech giant later stated it had identified the problem and begun deploying a fix, which was "currently progressing through the affected environment". It also mentioned conducting "manual restarts" on machines in an "unhealthy state" as part of the recovery process.

By 2pm on Monday, Microsoft’s own service status website indicated all systems were back to normal, although the company has not yet provided further updates on the status of the fix.
