Technical difficulties broke Monday's Nightly Show
Tweets contained in this article contain strong language.
Tonight (March 27) saw Gordon Ramsay take over hosting duties of The Nightly Show for the first time this week, and it was as foul-mouthed as you'd expect.
In between interviewing comedian and Room 101 host Frank Skinner, and the Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, Ramsay shouted at some chefs and the show's production crew.
The latter was part of a prank in which Ramsay tried to convince the audience that he cut his hand off in a blender, but during the following ad break, an actual mishap occurred.
ITV was hit with technical errors and the adverts were replaced by a test card and a voiceover telling us they were working on fixing the issues.
Some viewers tweeted their confusion about the sudden downtime, but a lot more of them were just brutal:
Finally they've axed the nightly show. But half way through the actual show #itv #thenightlyshow pic.twitter.com/bo7aoCH9VF

Although taking the mick out of The Nightly Show has become something of a very British pastime, a few viewers did actually enjoy Gordon Ramsay as host:
I'm Only Watching #TheNightlyShow Because @GordonRamsay Is Hosting, The Guy Is An Absolute Legend.

Some viewers even thought that the show had found its perfect host - Frank Skinner:
Frank is brilliant tonight 😄#thenightlyshow
- Sarah Richmond (@saraherichmond) March 27, 2017
Frank Skinner should've been given a hosting gig on this show. #thenightlyshow
- Jamie Dyer (@Jamiedyer89) March 27, 2017
#thenightlyshow with #gordonramsay - all it proves so far is that Frank Skinner should be the full time host.
- Justin (@justinpossible2) March 27, 2017
Good effort by #gordonramsay on #thenightlyshow tonight. Would be hilarious if #FrankSkinner presented it though instead of being a guest.

The quick wit of Frank Skinner. Can't help but think the host & the guest are the wrong way round #thenightlyshow #FrankSkinner

Frank Skinner's on The Nightly Show. Why can't he be a guest host?#TheNightlyShow

Fans have previously called for Davina McCall to be The Nightly Show's permanent host, while Ant & Dec have backed Dermot O'Leary to take over full-time.
The Nightly Show airs nightly (shocking, we know) at 10pm on ITV.
