Ted Bundy’s former girlfriend and her daughter will break their silence in a new Amazon Prime Video series telling the serial killer’s story from a female perspective.

The series will star Elizabeth Kendall, who was in a relationship with Bundy in the Seventies, as well as her daughter Molly, who was a toddler when her mother met the killer and who was partly raised by him.

Kendall, who named Bundy as a possible suspect in a string of disappearances while she was involved with Bundy, published a book in 1981 discussing the relationship.

She hasn’t spoken publicly about that part of her life since.

“After nearly 40 years of silence, Elizabeth Kendall and her daughter Molly share their experiences with unsettling new details about Bundy, the pull he had on women and an abundant archive of never-before-seen family photos,” Amazon said in Wednesday's announcement.

The series, which is expected for 2020, aims to amplify the female voices in the story of Bundy’s crimes.

Bundy killed at least 30 women across seven States, though the actual death count might be higher.

Survivors who were once targeted by Bundy will also speak out in the docuseries. The programme is being produced and directed by Trish Wood, an investigative journalist who specialises in true crime.

"Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer reframes Bundy’s crimes from a female perspective – uncovering the disturbing and profound way in which Bundy’s pathological hatred of women collided with the culture wars and feminist movement of the Seventies, culminating in what is perhaps the most infamous true-crime saga of our time," reads Amazon's announcement.

The programme will be released around the same time as an updated version of Kendall's 1981 book, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy. The original version has long been out of print and the new edition will be released on 6 January, 2020.

Kendall was played by Lily Collins in the May 2019 film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, which focused largely on her relationship with Bundy (portrayed by Zac Efron).

The film was released just a few months after Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, a documentary based on interviews of Bundy and those around him.
