Teen arrested after girl 'grabbed on way to school' in Cambridgeshire

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a girl reported being grabbed while walking to school in a Cambridgeshire town. Cambridgeshire Police officers were called to Blenheim Road in Ramsey at around 10am last Friday (January 17).

The alleged assault is believed to have taken place about an hour and a half earlier, at around 8.25am. The girl managed to get away from the scene of the reported incident and was unhurt.

A teenager has since been arrested on suspicion of abduction and common assault. Police officers began an investigation on January 17.

In an update one week later, on Friday, January 24, a Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "A 16-year-old boy from Ramsey was arrested on suspicion of abduction and common assault and has been released on bail until 14 April."
