A teen pleaded guilty to the 2022 murder of Emma Lovell in Australia
A teenager pleaded guilty to murdering a British mother who was living in Australia with her husband and two children, according to reports.
Emma Lovell, 41, was stabbed to death the day after Christmas in 2022 while defending herself from burglars, according to reports from the BBC, Australian Broadcasting Company and the Brisbane Times.
Two teenagers were arrested in the aftermath of the attack, according to the BBC. All three outlets reported that one of the suspects, who has not been identified because he was 17 at the time of the stabbing, pleaded guilty in Brisbane court to murder, burglary, committing a malicious act and assault occasioning bodily harm. The other teen reportedly has not entered any pleas, the BBC reported.
Lovell’s husband, Lee, was also stabbed during the attack and was in court Monday to see the guilty plea. The teen is due back in court for sentencing in May, according to the ABC.

The BBC reported that the Lovells and their two daughters moved to Australia from the United Kingdom in 2011.
