Teen creates website with kittens punching Donald Trump, and now the lawyers have come after her

A teenager who created a website where users can use a kitten’s paws to punch a picture of Donald Trump is facing legal action.

Lucy, 17, initially created TrumpScratch.com as a fun and innocent coding project, and the site was not created to be maliciously anti-Trump.

However, three weeks after the San Francisco teen started the site it was taken down after she received 'cease and desist' letters from lawyers of a “well known businessman and television star”, according to reports.

She changed the name of the site to Kittenfeed.com on the advice of a family lawyer and the letters were sent again. The site is currently down but can still be accessed via the web archive. A YouTube video shows an action shot from the website where you can see the kitten paws scratching Mr Trump's face.

Lucy wrote in an email to US newspaper The Observer: “It’s so sad that his administration is focused more on being liked, burying real news and taking down sites like mine as they supposedly make him look bad.”

She told The Observer she was going to close the website to avoid any legal issues, calling the intervention by lawyers “outrageous”.

“Meanwhile, he tweets about The Apprentice ratings and sends out power-drunk tweets about phone tapping,” she said.

After the initial news reports about the site, views increased from 3,000 to 50,000, according to Yahoo News.
