Coventry shooting: Boy, 15, among teenagers arrested over murder of 19-year-old man

A 15-year-old boy is among two teenagers being questioned over the murder of a 19-year-old man who was shot dead in Coventry.

West Midlands Police named the victim as Abdul Wahid Xasan after he was fatally shot in the back in the Hillfields area of the city on Friday afternoon.

A car believed to have been used in the shooting was found hours later.

A 15-year-old boy and a man aged 19 were arrested on suspicion of murder at their home addresses in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths, from the forces homicide unit, said: "Our sympathies remain with Abdul's family as they try to come to terms with this horrific crime.

"They are being supported by specialist officers as we continue to find the answers they deserve and bring Abdul's killers to justice."

Police said earlier that the victim was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

His family are now being supported by specialist officers.

The attack happened in Arnside Close near the junction of Clifton Street just after 2.30pm on Friday.
