Teen First Dates is officially more emotional than the original series.
In tonight's (March 22) episode, viewers watched one teen get her heart broken after what seemed like a great date.
Genevieve – or Gigi, as she would prefer to be known – was very excited for her first-ever date and seemed to really hit it off with Maisy, despite them both noting they were complete opposites in their style.
There were some moments throughout the date where it looked like there would be a second date on the horizon, especially when Maisie admitted she made the best brownies and Gigi said she'd like to try them one day.
Maisie laughed and told her: "Yeah, maybe in the future, you can try one of my brownies" and they even did the whole feeding each other their desserts thing.
As promising as it looked, and even after Gigi excitedly told the camera later that she thought it went well and admitted to fancying her date, Maisy apparently wasn't on the same wavelength.
When asked if they wanted to go out again, Maisy was the first to answer, saying she only saw Gigi as a friend.
"You're a lovely girl, obviously, and you're really pretty and everything, and there was obviously really good conversation and chat, but there was just no spark." Brutal.
Gigi played it cool and held back tears while telling Maisy that she would have wanted to go out with her again.
Alone in front of the camera, she showed her maturity saying: "It’s disappointing but you can’t help it can you? You can’t help what happens. What happens happens. Obviously, I am disappointed but I can move forward from this."
Maisy on the other hand didn't think that her chivalrous act of reaching for the bill and saying she would "love" to pay for her date's dinner could have confused Gigi: "I hope not," she candidly said to the camera. We will excuse her on the basis that she is 17 years old.
Those watching from home were heartbroken for Gigi, with one viewer tweeting,"Aww that actually just broke my heart. Bless Genevieve she was so lovely" and another writing, "Sad for the pink dress girl, she clearly wasn't okay".
It wasn't to be for them, but viewers were loving Summer and Sonny, who were a match made in the '80s and had so much in common, from their style to their taste in movies and love for musical theatre.
"I love Star Wars. I've got a lightsaber alright, I'm gonna put it out there. I've also got a little R2-D2 on my keyring that talks to me when I press it," he said. "I've got a Jedi cloak as well. I'm just making myself look like an idiot now aren't I?"
Bless him, we can just see them now starring in the First Dates musical episode – can someone get Fred Sirieix on this?
Teen First Dates airs on C4.
