Teenage boys on motorbike left seriously injured in crash as driver is arrested

Two teenage boys on a motorbike were left seriously injured in a crash with a car in Warrington on Sunday (June 16).

The boys, aged 17 and 15, were rushed to hospital from the scene on Greenwood Crescent after the major collision at around 5.45pm. Cheshire Police said the crash involved a car and a motorbike.

An air ambulance landed nearby, in front of the Morrisons Daily supermarket, after the collision. Police and paramedics also descended on the scene.

A 37-year-old man, the driver of the car involved, has been arrested. He currently remains in custody to be questioned by police.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: "At 5.44pm on Sunday 16 June police were called to a collision involving a car and a motorbike in Greenwood Crescent, Warrington.

"The rider of a motorbike, a 17-year-old male has gone to hospital with serious injuries. The pillion passenger, a 15-year-old boy is also in hospital with serious injuries. A 37-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody at this time."
