A teenage girl has been raped in an alleyway not far from a pub in daylight, police said.

The schoolgirl, 18, was sexually assaulted in Bradford on Friday afternoon.

A cordon remains in place at the scene on Market Street, in Wibsey as police investigate.

Police officers have been guarding the alleyway, local reports said.

Yorkshire live reported: “There is only a very little alleyway right between two houses.”

The rape has sparked concern among the residents in the area, the newspaper added.

Police received the report of rape in the early evening.

A spokesman for the police force said: “Police are investigating following a report of a rape which was received at 5.45pm on Friday.

“A scene is in place in Market Street, Wibsey while enquiries continue and an 18-year-old woman is being supported by specially trained officers.”
