The older man’s injuries were non life-threatening, said police, who have launched a murder inquiry.

The force said the teen’s next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

No arrests have been made, but a spokesman said a damaged car was found at the scene.

The road was closed and a police cordon was put in place while officers investigated. Scotland Yard is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
