A teenager is accused of trying to kill a 17-year-old boy and also stealing his bicycle.

Daryl McGairy, 18, allegedly carried out the attack in Tollcross Road in Glasgow's East End on April 21, 2021.

It is said he initially demanded the boy's bike.

Prosecutors state McGairy then struck him on the body with a knife.

The attempted murder charge claims this was to the 17-year-old's severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.

It further claims McGairy did "rob" the boy of his bike.

McGairy faces a separate charge that he also stole a bicycle from a 14-year-old boy on the same day in nearby Altyre Street.

His legal team pleaded not guilty on his behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow earlier this week.

A trial was set and is due to start in September 2023.
