A teenager was reportedly stabbed and another injured after a brawl in a Glasgow Park on Scotland’s exam results day.

Police said two teenagers were left injured after the “large scale disturbance” in Clarkston on Tuesday (August 7th).

According to reports, a large number of school pupils had gathered at Overlee Park to celebrate their exam results.

Witnesses described seeing a large number of emergency service vehicles, including police, ambulances and a helicopter, sent to the area on Tuesday night, with some reports suggesting the incident had involved youths wielding weapons including screwdrivers.

In an open letter to Chief Inspector John McQuilter, Police Scotland’s Area Commander for East Renfrewshire, local councillor David Macdonald called for an increase in police presence in the area.

He wrote: “I previously stated things were out of control and the area was under attack from anti social behaviour in an email to you in June. I stand by that statement regardless if you disagree.
