Teenagers arrested minutes after Northfield robbery as police use off-road bikes

Two teenagers have been arrested minutes after a robbery in Birmingham. Police are probing an incident in Northfield.

West Midlands Police were called to Bristol Road South, at 3.45pm, yesterday, Thursday, June 13. Officers along with the drone unit, traffic team including our off-road bikes, and Guardian Taskforce officers, were dispatched the area.

Two men - aged 18 and 19 - were held in Church Hill, Frankley, around 4.30pm. Both men remain in custody for questioning by police. Inquiries are ongoing.

In a statement, police said: "Two men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery in Birmingham thanks to quick work from our officers. We were called at around 3.45pm yesterday following reports of a robbery in Bristol Road South, Northfield.

"After making off from the scene, officers, along with assistance from the drone unit, our traffic team including our off-road bikes, and Guardian Taskforce officers, detained the 19-year-old and 18-year-old men in Church Hill, Frankley, around 4.30pm. Both men remain in custody for questioning."
