Teesside businessman's luxury interiors firm scoops international design award in Milan

A Teesside businessman's luxury interiors company has scooped an international design award.

Personally designed by Lusso CEO, Wayne Spriggs, the award-winning Spectre Door Handle won an award at a special ceremony in Milan for its commitment to innovation and creativity. Wayne, who runs his multi-million pound business from Thornaby, said he was honoured the door handle won the prestigious Archiproducts Design Award for Concept and Design in the "Systems, Components and Materials" category.

The award, presented at Superstudio Più in Milan, highlights the Teesside firm's commitment to redefining luxury and precision in homeware and design, with Wayne at the helm of the brand's creative direction.

Wayne said: "It's an immense honour to once again be recognised by the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards, this time for our innovative Spectre Door Handle. Like many of Lusso's product lines, I personally designed this concept, as a testament to the innovation and creativity of Lusso.

"The door handle features a patented concealed, pull-to-lock feature and an integrated safety mechanism, making it a one-of-a-kind design.

"This award, following last year's recognition for our Lamp Collection, reflects our commitment to outstanding design and quality but also our relentless pursuit of creativity and precision. I am focused on redefining luxury in every detail and setting new standards within the homeware and design industry."

The Archiproducts Design Awards, now in their ninth edition, celebrate innovation and sustainable design by recognising the world's most creative brands and designers. Selected by an esteemed international jury, including industry experts such as David Gianotten, Francine Houben, and Yama Karim, winning designs are chosen for their originality, aesthetic, and sustainability.

Wayne’s hands-on approach to design has become Lusso's signature, and the Spectre Door Handle highlights his drive to create functional pieces. Renowned for his attention to detail and commitment to unparalleled quality, flagship products are meticulously designed in-house by Wayne himself.

The Spectre Door Handle, crafted from solid brass with a diamond-cut knurl inspired by British luxury cars, brings high-end design to residential and commercial properties. It is available in four finishes brushed black, brushed gold, brushed nickel and gunmetal.
