A Teesside great-grandmother is proving you are never too old to have fun as she parties with Wayne Lineker on sunshine jaunt.

Margaret Dillon might be 86, but she is determined to make the most of each day after going abroad for just the third time in her life. The mum-of-six, who only retired at the age of 79, jetted off to Ibiza for a family wedding vow renewal and has fallen in love with the party life.

As well as going to internet personality Lineker's famous 'O Beach' night spot, she is also planning a trip to famous Cafe Mambo and to do a daredevil bungee jump.

And, after Wayne shared his meeting with Margaret, known to everyone as Nana Dillon, on his Instagram account, the Middlesbrough pensioner has become an internet sensation with more than 16,300 likes.

Speaking from Ibiza, Margaret, told Teesside Live: "I am having a lovely time. It is really lovely here. I've never been to Ibiza before. You have to make the most of it don't you?"

Nana Dillon jetted off to the island with her family for the wedding vow renewal of her granddaughter Zoe Ferguson, 42, and her husband Mark, 43. And, she was determined not to miss out on any of the fun.

She said: "I just think after working all your life and looking after other people and putting other people before yourself, it's my time to let my hair down. That's what holidays are all about anyway."

The fun-loving pensioner, who has three sons, three daughters, more than 20 grandchildren and too many great-grandchildren to count, said she has had lots of different jobs during her life including working as a cleaner on the buses. Her final job was working at the former Marton Country Club in the town and she left there to retire at the age of 79.

Grandson-in-law Mark, said Margaret had never been abroad before he and Zoe took her with them to Thailand about five years ago. He said: "I thought it might be too far, but Zoe said, she'll be fine - and she was. She had an amazing time. After that she went with Zoe on a girls' holiday to Spain. She is such a character."
