Calling all Telltale fans: we come bearing tidings of joy! The studio has just announced the return of three of its popular series.

Telltale is to release a new season of its Batman series, another season of The Walking Dead, and most exciting of all, a follow up to The Wolf Among Us.

First up: Bats. The full title of the new series is Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series, and it's a direct sequel to the first season. The new big bad in town is The Riddler, who will be wreaking havoc in Gotham alongside the game's pre-Joker, John Doe.

You can watch the talented people at Telltale talking about the new series' themes in the video below. It sounds like Brucey will edge ever closer to the darkness he's pledged to fight, as players decide "what parts of themselves [they are] willing to compromise to get the job done."

Much like the sneak-extraordinaire himself, The Enemy Within crept up on us all, and will descend upon gamers with its first episodes in August this year.

Next up is season 4 of The Walking Dead, which has the working title of "The Final Season". At last, Telltale will be wrapping up Clementine's story, following an award-winning first season and, more recently, a ropier third season.

Hopefully the studio will send her off with a bang / chomp / gflarrrghhghghhggh.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – The Final Season will debut in 2018, and will see *ENORMOUS SPOILER ALERT* Clementine continue her search for young AJ.

It's worth watching Telltale's announcement below for the sublime moment when voice actor Melissa Hutchinson turns on her Clementine voice.

And lastly, Telltale delivered a third announcement that players have been crying out for since 2014. The Wolf Among Us Season 2 will debut next year.

The first season was a moody, pitch-perfect translation of Bill Willingham's comic book series Fables. With good reason it's considered by many to be Telltale's seminal piece, closely followed by the first series of The Walking Dead.

Our only concern is that it doesn't sound like the cliffhanger at the end of the first season will be resolved. Season 2 "will begin a fresh story arc", but don't worry – the voice actors for Bigby and Snow are returning, so they will likely feature in some way.

Could this be Snow's time to shine?
